Slacker

I am a slacker, I know this, and I am okay with it. But, just to redeem myself a little here is my story. That bad cold I had turned into a full blown sinus infection so I was down for a few days. Following that, my son got his wisdom teeth out and I was busy playing nurse and making lots of pureed foods. (BTW do you know how hard it is to feed a 6' and growing teenage boy on what is basically baby food? The kid has a hollow leg and it is hard to fill!) Then I had to send my daughter and husband to camp, and school started for the littlest. It has been a busy summer and frankly sometimes I am just feeling to hot and lazy to take pictures. Which makes it really hard to update a blog about clothes. But, I am turning over a new leaf.

Together Again

It has been a long week, two of my children have been gone to camp/retreat this past week and my hubby has been working 16 hour days. It was very quiet and lonely around this house. My son came home yesterday and I picked my daughter up today. It sure feels good to have all my little chicks back in the hen house. I missed them so much! I don't even want to think about them leaving...what will I do with all my time. I might have to get a real job (gasp!) For now, I am enjoying having them here, even with all the arguing.

My good friend Julie is raising money to go to Japan and volunteer, she served an LDS mission there and has a great love for the people. She is selling a cookbook to raise money to help her get there. If you are willing to help her click here. BTW she is an awesome cook and has great recipes that she shares on her blog. She is the mother of seven, yes seven, children and knows how to feed them right. She is an inspiration to me!

The Last Boy Scout

My youngest son just turned 11 years old and is now a new Scout. Today we went to The Scout Shop to get him all outfitted and ready for Boy Scout Camp. It was weird buying all of this stuff for my baby. It seems like just yesterday I was doing this for my oldest son. He is my youngest and my Last Boy Scout :)

Under the Weather

Just when I was getting back in the blogging grove. I got hit with the worst head cold I have had in years!
I forgot how crappy a stupid cold can make you feel. I just wanted to lay around and do nothing so that is basically what I did. I did go to my Mom's to help my sister clean and organize. That small task wore me out and I just lounged the rest of the day.
Anyway, here are a few of the outfits I have worn these past few days.

Saturday is a Special Day...

It's the day you run around like a crazy person to get things done.  The song doesn't really go like that, but that is usually how I feel. Today was filled with preparations for a birthday party for my second oldest son and my hubby. I had a few last minute gifts to buy and two desserts to prepare.

I made this dessert for my hubby for the first time 13 years ago because he doesn't like cake. Now it is his birthday dessert every year. It is so good and so easy!

I tried this messy bun that I saw on this cute girls blog. She has such cute style and hair that I am jealous of!

Home Sweet Home

For the past couple of weeks we have been on vacation.
First we did this:
 Pulled handcarts for 26 miles.
My two oldest boys having a stick pull. I won't say who won, but the oldest was not going down!
Then we went to our family reunion in Oregon.
 We hiked Silver Creek Falls.
We ate way to many of these.
 We celebrated with fireworks.
 We celebrated my hubby's birthday.
 We rode this A LOT!
And now we are home, and I have way to much of this.

We had a much need and very fun vacation. But boy am I glad to be home!
