Repaired!

Today's challenge is to wear something from the repair pile. I recently got rid of my repair pile leaving me with nothing to wear, yikes! But, my son has had a pair of black dress pants he needed repaired, so in honor of his newly repaired black pants, I wore my black pants.
This morning as I was getting ready I heard the fire alarms at the school go off. I know that they have routine fire drills but it always makes my heart skip a beat as I run to the window to make sure there is no billowing smoke coming from the school. Luckily it was just a drill and all is well :)

Menswear Inspired

I love being inspired by men's clothing. There is something so awesome about men's clothing, it is comfy and roomy. As a girl with long arms and legs it is hard to find things that actually are big on you, so men's clothing totally fits the bill! Not to mention that it is fun to wear an XS sometimes :)

Hair Raising

Today's challenge is trying something new with your hair. I tried three different up dos before I finally gave up and went with the braid. My daughter wears her hair like this all the time and it looks so cute on her, but I always thought I was to old. I am sure when my daughter gets home from school she will not hesitate to tell me I am not to wear my hair like this every again. Ah, the joy of raising teenagers.

Copycat

Today's challenge is to copy a look you love. This is easy for me because I love getting inspiration from others, honestly that is the reason I started reading fashion blogs and eventually became a blogger myself. Looking at a great outfit and recreating it from my own wardrobe is fun! I get lots of ideas from Polyvore, Pintrest and the many blogs I read. There are so many fashionable ladies out there and thanks to all of you I look put together (most days, anyway) I guess for me copying someone else is really a tribute to their sense of style!
My inspriation:
can't summer come faster?

Pop O' Color

Nothing is as classic as black and white and I love how it looks and feels. Adding my favorite shoe color to that combo is even better. Today's challenge is add a pop of color to a neutral outfit. Of course my heart instantly went to red because there is nothing I love better then a pair of red shoes! But this combo would look great with yellow, purple, teal or any other color!

Jazzin up my Jeans

Today's challenge over on Freckles in April is Jazzing up jeans. I love jeans, I live in jeans, this challenge might as well be "breath" that is how easy it is for me to wear jeans. I love them dressed up and dressed down. I decided to wear my remix item and wear a scarf to add some pizzaz. I also decided to wear my seventies inspired jeans to make this outfit a bit more interesting. I can't wait to wear these pants in the fall with big sweaters, scarves and boots!

Skirting the Issue

Today's challenge is wearing a skirt or dress. I wear dresses to church activities, but unless the dress code demands it, I don't wear them. I am not really sure why. I guess because it just seems easier to wear pants. I do like how cool and comfy skirts can be though, maybe if I wear them more often my kids won't say, "Where are you going?" every time I wear a dress or skirt.

Oh...Orphan!

Today's challenge is to wear a closet orphan. Well, in the process of deciding which orphan to wear, I discovered quite a few things that I don't want to wear anymore. I guess I should try wearing orphans more often to help me clean out my closet! The reason this top is an orphan is because the color is a little strange and I am not in love with the ruffle around the bottom. I am afraid that this little top (along with a few of it's friends) are headed to the local charity.

Monochrome

The last 24 hours have been exhausting. We took our car in to have the Safety and Emissions done and found out we needed new brakes and new tires, ouch! After recovering from that bad news I was making lunch when I realized everything in my freezer was thawing out. We called the repair man and he told us the compressor was out on our refrigerator. Off we went to Lowe's to buy a new one. It ended up being a very expensive and stressful day. I guess when it rains it pours, maybe that is why I chose gray as my outfit color for today.

I don't usually wear all one color, I can't resist having a little pop of color. I usually wear this top with a splash of pink or red and it was hard to resist not wearing bright red shoes! I do like how this turned out and I will definitely give monochromatic outfits another try. I am having a blast with this challenge!

Mixin it Up

Today is all about mixing fancy and casual. I put together about 27 different outfits in my head but they all required lots of layers and pants. Not so good for the expected 96 degree weather for today. I settled for a fancy top and holy cropped jeans. It is not my favorite outfit but I can't wait to try this look when the temps take a dive. For now, this will have to do.
