Like a thief in the night...

I completely stole this outfit from this amazing lady. She is so classy and puts things together that I would never think of, but LOVE! I couldn't bring myself to wear the boots, even though it is totally snowing as I type this, I mean it is almost May! When will this winter weather ever move on?

I am so excited it's Friday! We have a busy weekend: 2 baseball games, dance competition, 2 AP practice tests and a thirteenth birthday, but I love the weekends. Hanging out with my kids and going on dates with my hubby, what could be better!

Post Election Exaustion

After all the excitement of yesterday, including a late night ice cream celebration, I am exhausted. I worked today and could barely keep my eyes open. I even talked myself into eating a fruit tart from Kneaders at lunch, convinced the sugar would keep me awake. I guess it worked because I didn't go face down onto the computer keyboard. I came home, made dinner and commenced the veg-out in front of the TV.  Hopefully a good nights sleep will revive me!

And the Winner is...

After a many sleepless nights, countless hours spent, and a day filled with anxiety, it is finally over and he won! My son was elected as the Junior Class Vice President for his high school. I was so nervous all day long and when I finally got the text from him I had been waiting for I didn't dare look at it! I am so proud of him for putting himself out there and trying, he is a great kid and he will do a great job!

On the Hunt

My daughters 13th birthday is this Saturday, so I am on the hunt for the perfect gift for her. She has already picked out some clothes (because she does not trust my taste). And she has asked for a purple iHome. Do you know how hard it is to find one of those? And of course with everything else going on in life I have waited to long and I cannot order it online. I went to four different stores today without luck, tomorrow I will begin again, in hopes of finding the ever elusive purple iHome.

Easter Fun!

I love Easter, going to church and hearing the message about our Savior's love, wearing new spring outfits, and eating so much chocolate that you fall into a sugar induced coma!

We had a great Easter filled with tradition. We spent the morning hunting for our Easter baskets, and attending church, followed by an Easter egg hunt and a delicious dinner at my parents house. And finally cuddled up together on the couch eating treats and watching the new movie the Easter Bunny left for us. (He was very generous this year and got us three new movies!) I love spending holidays with my family. We take pictures every year, even though my children hate it. But it is fun to look back over the years at how much they have changed and how big they are getting. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday!

I Need a Shower

Today I went to a bridal shower for the most adorable couple. They seriously look like Ken and Barbie, they are so cute! The Groom is the son of our closest friends, we have known them since he was 7 years old. We love their family so much.

As I sat there watching her open all her amazing gifts (seriously, people are so dang creative), I thought about all the crappy kitchen items I own. There are some things in my cupboard that I have had since my own wedding shower, almost 20 years ago. I think that we should start having showers for couples who make it to year #20. What do you think? After 20 years don't you think we could all use a kitchen shower to freshen up all of our worn out utensils? I think so! But since that isn't likely to happen, I guess I will just have to buy my own stuff, or I could buy more shoes and just use my crappy stuff a little longer :)

Dance On

What do you wear to teach 10 teenagers a dance routine for your son's campaign skit? Followed by marathon shopping with your daughter? Along with three other stops to get more stuff for the campaign for this week? This...

My hubby insisted I post a picture of my sparkly jeans, I think it's because he picked them out :)

Spaghetti Arms

Every Tuesday and Thursday I go to the boot camp class at the gym. I love the class and it literally kicks my butt. Today I set up my mat and weights at my usual spot. I didn't know we had a substitute, but figured I would be fine with my usual weights, I was wrong. This cute instructor made us do so many reps that my arms literally feel like spaghetti, it hurts to even type and move the mouse. It is going to be a long day and tomorrow is going to be even worse!

Personal Style Choices

My ten-year-old son has been begging me to dye his hair a dark brown. I kept putting him off because I kept thinking, "He is to young to be dying his hair, he will forget about it if I just put him off." But, he didn't forget and it got me thinking about the age my oldest son was when he begged me to bleach his hair. It was about the same age. How young is to young to make this style choice? Is this the age when we start to make these choices? Long story short, I gave in and dyed his hair. It is cute and the good thing is, it will grow out and be cut off in a few short weeks. That is one good thing about boys.

Round one, done!

My son made it through the primary elections today. Yipee! When I got home from work, getting my hair fixed, and running some errands, he informed me he needed two more posters and a banner for tomorrow. Along with more handouts, yikes! Not really what I had planned for tonight. Oh well, it is all finally done and I am off to bed.
