The Many Hats

Over the past few days my oldest son has been sick. Nothing serious, just a bad cold that has knocked him flat. Because of that I have donned my nursing hat and have been buying medication, mixing up orange juice and just generally waiting on him. I hate when my kids are sick and I try to do whatever I can to make them feel better. I wish I could wrap him in a blanket and rock him to sleep, but since he is 18 and bigger than me, that is not really an option.

As mothers we wear many different hats to take care of our children: nurse, chauffeur, teacher, confidant, counselor, cook, maid,  and many others. I love being all of those things for my kids (except maybe chauffeur) and as the days of having our oldest son living with us are coming to an end, I wonder what will happen to all my hats?

  1. I love the scarf...such a beautiful color on you! Enjoy reading your thoughts here. I'm not even a Mother yet and I sometimes already feel like (even just as a woman) that I have to be the 'jack of all trades' in life! :)

  2. I just had to comment and tell you I love your blog! I find it to be very relatable. I love your style! I've only been a mom for 2 1/2 years, and since recently having had my second haven't known what to wear! I know I shouldn't be dressing like a teenager anymore, but I don't want to dress like a 'mom'! I have felt like I'm kind of in an awkward stage haha! I've loved getting ideas from looking at your blog- you look great! Also, I enjoy that you post about church-related things frequently, and I also like that your blog is so grounded (if that makes sense :))
