The Dreaded List

I am a list maker, I love making lists, doing what is on my list, and crossing it off! However, there is one list that I hate making, the grocery list. Deciding on menus, checking to see what we need, and then the actual shopping for groceries, YUCK! I beg my family to help me decide what to make but no one ever has any ideas. How do you decide what to make for dinner? What is your least favorite household task?

  1. I know what you mean!!! When I was growing up my mom had us pick a meal a week to make. We'd write down what we wanted to make, including ingredients, sides, drinks and desserts. She only went grocery shopping every two weeks so we'd make two "meal tickets" as she called them. It taught us how to cook and took a lot of the work off of her. I really wish my kids were old enough to do that with so for now I have major issue not only making a menu but following through (I have a problem wanting to eat what I decided to make). Good luck!!! Your outfit is so cute! :)

  2. I just found this site called www.e-mealz.com (I am in no way compensated or related to this site, I genuinely use it.) It has really worked for me, and I substitute my own recipes where wanted.
Also, I check out the free menus on menus4moms.com
    Hope that helps!

  3. Making up the weekly menu is so hard! I like to write it out on a dry erase board in the kitchen, and then I try to have at least one pasta dish, one rice dish, 2-3 vegetarian dishes, and 1-2 meat centered dishes. Obviously there is overlap, but it ends up making things somewhat easier.
